Is it me or is there just not any time anymore? It seems like the more I want to get done the faster time dissapears. It’s always something lately. I have projects I just never seem to get time to spend on them.

My best friends mom is still in the hospital following heart surgery. She had some fluid in her lungs and they had to sedate her and put several tubes in. When we went to visit recently she looked so pale. I know that nobody will feel like theres time to do much of anything until shes better. We keep waiting for news and updates about her.

Send up a prayer for her if you have a spare moment. She seems to be pulling through but it is slow and theres been several set backs. Thank you.

Some of us remember the series of beeps and the nails on chalk board screech of our dial-up modems connecting to the internet. Most of us today have a constant always up connection of some kind to the internet. The need for both speed and stability has been rising since the very launch of the internet. There is an entire net culture now that sets frequent users apart from casual users.

We connect to the internet to work, to socialize, to share our very lives with friends and family who are distant from us. We meet amazing people from places we never might have otherwise visited. Or perhaps even if we have been there and walked right past them, we suddenly find them on the internet.

I have always enjoyed how easy it is to get to know someone for their personality first without seeing a face or hearing their voice. As human beings we tend to judge one another based on appearance. Who seems more intelligent on first glance? The polished lady in the business suit or the old frumpy janitor woman in the basement off the office? The lady might be your first choice, but she may have aquired her position based on looks and not really have a clue how to efficiently run the business. While the janitor might be a retired school teacher, who taught on a college level for many years and only took the janitor position part time to keep her arthritis at bay.

You just never know a person until you get to know their personality completely. On that note there is a strange connection that happens on the internet. When  you start to talk with a new friend nearly every day on the internet you get to know their personality. Even if they do not share all of their personal life you just start to know things about how they feel, and if they are upset or not.

What I am not sure about personally is why you start to feel these things about them, and they do the same thing for you if they realise it or not. There are many depths to this type of connection that I find rather frightening in that the person becomes as dear to you as your own best friend next door.

Sometimes I wonder if there is a reason you meet certain people and connect with them. Why in a chat room or game full of people do you specifically start to get to know a person. Its not about only the girl meets boy connection, but about the friend meets friend connection as well. Why do certain people become the best of friends and others who are in the same place and doing similar things, only remain someone you saw before? It is perplexing..

It is hard for me to believe that its been almost a year since my last vacation to Florida. Last year my family and friends went to Disney World and Seaworld. We stayed at the Bahama Bay Resort and had an absoloute blast.

This year we are heading to Palm Coast to enjoy the beach. I am also planning to head to St.Augustine to check out the Old Spanish Fort and the reportedly ‘haunted’ Lighthouse. I saw it on Ghost Hunters one night and it was rather facinating the scientific way they captured an odd shadow near the top of the stairs. I will have to go myself and see how it feels and see if I capture anything with my camera.

I hope to go back to Disney soon as well. Perhaps for Christmas we can get there but it depends on finances. Usually it helps to split the costs with friends so that might be an option. 🙂

It was a wonderful day yesterday especially in the evening. After spending the morning with family, my kids went over to visit their grandparents except for my youngest so it felt like a good break.

I logged in to Second Life, A game that is run by Linden Labs currently. I have been a resident there for around 3 years in fact. The secret is out! I am a gaming goddess. 🙂

My avatar is named Cathereine Night and I own a store called AlleyCat Studios there. Currently I am working on a roleplaying sim called Halliwell. I often build professionally for companies and individuals within the 3d world. Halliwell is my baby right now, and I am doing it purely for enjoyment and to showcase my skills. I suspect it will be a work in progress.

Anyways last night some dear friends of mine threw me a virtual birthday party. My friend Delena set up a beautiful cake and decorations in the tavern there. My friend Zachh set up a music stream and DJ’ed for me, and my friend August set up a great fireworks display.

All of my friends there make facing my real stresses in life much easier. You could not ask for a better set of friends. What a wonderful place SL is!
